With The Lion King right around the corner, Disney has no intention of taking a break from their live-action retelling of classical stories. The studio is already in pre-production for its next flick, The Little Mermaid with many popular actors in the running for various roles. The news that Aladdin had become the highest grossing film in Will Smith’s career is also luring many to be a part of the next Disney fairytale.

I look forward to taking my daughter to see Halle Bailey as Ariel in the live action version of Little Mermaid. She'll be ecstatic seeing another girl of color as a Disney princess. I will have to tolerate the songs, but…worth it.
