The Star Wars Universe is perhaps the best thing to come out of Hollywood over the decades.  George Lucas’ story of a young man, an evil Empire, and a galaxy far, far away has captured the imaginations of a generation who grew up on that original trilogy, and later the younger viewers with its prequels, sequels and other canonical spin-offs.

The Star Wars stories are vast and teeming with characters. With room for even more characters to fill, it is normal for anyone to miss out on some of their iconic characters. From the greatest Jedis and Jabba sidekicks to loyal ‘bots and extraterrestrial louts, there are many cool characters that we often forget.  However, we have taken it upon ourselves to freshen up your memories. Here is the list for the 13 most iconic Star Wars characters we often forget. May the force be with you, always!!

Don’t underestimate Lando by his silk shirt, the matching cape, and the easy smile. This smooth-talking smuggler changed from being a get-rich-quick schemer to a selfless leader in the fight against the Empire. The character portrayed by Billy Dee Williams in The Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi. However, Donald Glover played the younger version of the character in the standalone Han Solo Star Wars movie.

C-3PO

He is fluent in over seven million forms of communication and a constant companion to astromech R2-D2. Over the year, this metal worrywart has been involved in many great Star Wars battles and has become an inevitable part of the Star Wars Saga.

Obi-Wan KenobiObi-Wan-Kenobi

How the hell did he end up in this list, right?! Well, it seems like some people forget him a lot too. Obi-Wan Kenobi is a Jedi Knight who personifies the patience, wisdom, and discipline required to harness the Force. This legendary Jedi Master trained Anakin Skywalker, served as a general in the Republic Army during the Clone Wars, and guided Luke Skywalker as a mentor.

A man of few words, Darth Maul is a deadly, agile Sith Lord trained by the evil Darth Sidious. When it comes lightsabers, this guy literally broke the mould and introduced the double-bladed weapon into the Star Wars universe. Now you know where Kylo Ren in The Force Awakens got the inspiration for his cross-sword beam. But jokes apart, Darth is one evil dude you don’t want to mess around with. George Lucas has described the big bad of The Phantom Menace as “a figure from one of his darkest nightmares.”

R2-D2
